Mike York, ATC has worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer for 7 years and with The Center for Physical Rehabilitation for 2 of these years. This will be his 5th year as Rockford High School's Head Athletic Trainer, where he also teaches Sports Medicine I & II. Mike grew up appreciating athletics in Jenison. After graduating from Cleveland State University in '99, where he interned with the Browns and the Indians, he worked football as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Oklahoma State University. Mike came back to Grand Rapids to work at Union High School for two years. During that time Mike traveled through China with professional basketball teams and spent a season as the head ATC for the Gary Steelheads of the Continental Basketball Association. Mike is a clinical instructor for Grand Valley's Athletic Training program, and has had high school interns go on to study Sports Medicine in college. His biggest goal is to see athletes achieve their potential both mentally and physically.
