The Center for Physical Rehabilitation has partnered with nine area high schools to provide the service of athletic training during the games and for daily sports events. The Center has employed highly skilled Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC). The following is a list of our trainers and the schools that they service:
Joe Chiaramonte Joe graduated from Grand Valley State University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with a sports medicine emphasis. He worked at Grand Valley State University as an ACI Clinical instructor and for the State of MI as a Medical First Responder. Joe has worked in the school system since 1995. He currently works at Byron Center High School as their Athletic Trainer.
Wendi Corelli Wendi earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Laurentian University in Sudbury Ontario, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Athletic Training from Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. She went on to earn her Masters in Sports Medicine from The United States Sports Academy in Alabama. She presently works as the Director of Sports Medicine for The Center and is also the Head Athletic Trainer at Davenport University.
Diana Kisner Diana graduated with her Bachelors degree from Grand Valley State University in 2002. From there she spent 3 years with Godwin Heights High School and had a brief one year stint at both Unity Christian High School and Davenport University. She has worked at the Center for Physical Rehabilitation as the Certifed Athletic Trainer at South Christian High School for the last three years.
Jessica Lis Jessica graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in 2006. Soon after graduating from college she became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Jessica is currently the Athletic Trainer for Forest Hills Central High School.
Amanda Smits Amanda graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Amanda is currently the Athletic Trainer for Forest Hills Eastern
Patty Sellner Patty graduated from Grand Valley State University with a degree in Health Science with an emphasis in Anatomy and Sports Medicine. Patty has over 20 years of experience as an athletic trainer. She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and has extensive experience in aquatic rehabilitation. She has most recently worked in community outreach developing health and wellness programs for many populations. Patty is currently the Athletic Trainer at Forest Hills Northern High School.
Mike York Mike graduated from Cleveland State University in 1999. After graduating, he interned with the Browns and the Indians, and he also worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Oklahoma State University. Mike has also traveled through China with professional basketball teams and spent a season as the head ATC for the Gary Steelheads of the Continental Basketball Association. Mike is a clinical instructor for Grand Valley's Athletic Training program. Mike is currently the Athletic Trainer for Rockford High School.
Jamie Young Jamie Young graduated from the University of Michigan in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Education, and Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and Physical Education. Jamie is now a full time language arts and yearbook teacher at Godwin Heights High School in Wyoming, Michigan (her alma mater). Currently, she is also the Athletic Trainer for Comstock Park.
