Video Gait Evaluation

Gait evaluations include a complete lower body biomechanical screen with a measureable strength and flexibility assessment. It will also include videotaped gait analysis on the treadmill with software analysis for every sequence of the gait cycle.

Who would benefit from gait evaluation?

  • Anyone suffering from lower extemity pain especially during walking or running.
  • Walkers or runners experiencing pain while exercising.
  • Walkers or runners without pain who want to have a comprehensive evaluation for recommendation on proper shoe wear for their particular foot type and injury prevention education.

What can I expect?

  • Expect one hour of time for a comprehensive lower quarter asessment and gait evaluation.
  • Expect to run or walk for apprx 1-2 min. while recording video.
  • Bring shorts & shoes used to walk/ run in and orthotics if used.

Comprehensive evaluation includes:

  • Lower quarter biomedchanical screen.
  • Written report on evaluation and recommended findings (upon request to physicians).
  • Analysis of gait video on specialized computer software.
  • Recommendations provided related to the information obtained i.e. shoes, training, exercise, and orthotic use.
